Instance and type parameters
Every parameter field shows a small tag at its right end: Instance (green) or Type (amber). For a parameter typed by name you click the tag to switch it. A built-in parameter is locked to what Revit defines.
When the target is a type parameter but the value comes from instances — a room, a level, an
instance parameter — FlexiData writes the type only when all its instances in the run agree. If
two doors of type D90 stand in rooms 1.04 and 1.05, the type keeps the value it had. The
Configurator says so in a gray note under the field.
This applies to Copy & Paste, Combine Values, Calculated Value, Map Values and If Then Else. Operations that read where an element is — Room Data, Level, Nearest Grids and the like — write instance parameters only, and Unique Identifier too.
