Languages
Two languages are in play, and they are independent of each other:
| What it changes | How to set it | |
|---|---|---|
| FlexiData's language — English or German | Every label in the Configurator and the Executor | EN / DE in each window's title bar; switches at once, nothing restarts |
| Revit's language | The names Revit gives its categories and built-in parameters | Revit's own setting |
The Configurator remembers the language you chose last. The Executor starts in German in a German Revit and in English otherwise; EN / DE switches it. The captions of the FlexiData ribbon buttons follow Revit's language.
Does a file work in a Revit of another language?
| What the file names | Found in a Revit of any language? |
|---|---|
| A category ticked in the list | Yes — stored by Revit's identifier |
| A built-in parameter picked from the list | Yes — stored by Revit's identifier |
A built-in parameter typed by name (Mark) |
No — only in a Revit that calls it that; a German Revit calls it Kennzeichen |
| A shared, project or family parameter typed by name | Yes — these keep the name you gave them in every language |
So: pick built-in parameters from the list rather than typing them, and the same file runs in an English and a German office alike.
Other places language matters
- Category screenshots — pasting a picture of a category list ticks English and German names alike, whatever language the window is in; see Ticking categories from a screenshot.
- Smart tags such as
{Date_ISO}are written the same in both languages; the values they fill in come from the model. - The report — numbers and dates follow the Executor's language.
